We only subtract these- Sales tax or VAT we pass to the government
- Refunds we actually return to a buyer
- The card or payment fee on that sale, at cost
- Tax we are legally required to withhold, with a receipt
- Only on money from YouTube Content ID: the Content ID partner's cut, never more than 30%
- Only on money we recover from someone who used your clip without a license: outside legal costs, never more than 30%

Do I keep the copyright?
Yes, forever. Your video stays yours. Channels pay for permission to use it. They never own it, and neither do we.

What can a channel do with my clip?
Use it in YouTube compilations on the channels they list, in any language, and edit it. Not on TV, and not in paid ads off YouTube.
When do I get paid?
Within 14 days of the channel's payment reaching us. If you're owed less than $20, we hold it until it reaches $20.
Who can sell licenses to my clip?
A license is paid permission to use your clip. The deal is exclusive: while it runs, only we sell licenses for your clip, and you can keep posting it on your own accounts.
Is the deal forever? What if I want to stop?
No. Unlike some agencies, this deal never turns into ownership of your video, and it is not forever. Cancel free in the first 30 days after your clip goes live. Once it has been live 6 months, leave any time with 30 days' notice. Licenses sold before you leave keep running, and you keep getting paid on them.
Someone contacted me about my video. Is it really you?
Our invitations always link to northlicense.com and our emails only come from @northlicense.com addresses. We never ask for your password or any money, and you approve the agreement before anything is sold. Not sure? Email hello@northlicense.com and we'll confirm it's us.
How do I know this is real?
Northlicense is run by Citrex Media FZCO, a licensed company in Dubai. Our address is at the bottom of every page.
What if someone uses my clip without paying?
We chase it and you are never billed. If we recover money, outside legal costs come off first, never more than 30%, and you get 55% of the rest. We are setting up YouTube Content ID. Once it is running, we register clips that pass our checks, and you get 55% of that money too.
Is a sale guaranteed?
No. You are paid when a channel pays. What we promise is the split, the speed, and that you never pay us.
